Stunning Lake Tahoe is one of my favorite places to be with family and friends. I love coming here with family and friends all year long. Winter is a special time at Lake Tahoe for us. We all love to ski in my family. Some of my earliest memories are of me being on the slopes while my father showed me how to stop safely. My sisters and our brother are all expert skiers. We’ve had the pleasure of skiing many places. I’ve been to some of the most famous European ski resorts and spent lots of time exploring the best mountains America has to offer. Still, I keep coming back to Lake Tahoe. I love how you can spend time rushing down a slope during the day and enjoy wonderful dining meals and partying with people from all over the globe at night.
So Many Choices
There are so many things to adore about taking a vacation here. One of best is that you can have your pick of resorts. When we’re planning family fun, we always have a hard time choosing. I like personally like Squaw Valley. It offers the best of contemporary, updated options while at the same time it was also the site of an Olympic games. I used to here as a kid and then again on road trips when I was in college. The village has a fabulous selection of shops and bars while there’s an incredible array of trails. We also like the other resorts in the area. Diamond Peak has amazing views across the entire area. Northstar California is a huge place that offers lots of wonderful variety.
Bringing My Family
The last time we went skiing in Lake Tahoe, we had to make sure there was something for everyone in the family. My brother-in-law and his family also came with us. They have three kids ranging in age from toddler to a ten year old. Like us, they wanted to be somewhere that offered challenging slopes but plenty of time to let every family member relax when off the slopes. I had to be particularly careful. I have a knee injury so I’ve been using stem cells for knees and found great relief. At the same time, I want to keep my skiing skills up. So I was looking for a resort that could meet many needs at the same time.
A Home Base
We wanted a week’s vacation when the kids were on their winter break. We also wanted a place that would let us try a lot of type of activities for all ages. After a lot of talk, we decided to make the Tahoe Donner Downhill Ski Area our collective home base. This worked out well. It was one of the more affordable options in the area. It’s also a place totally dedicated to encouraging young skiers to get on the slopes as early as possible. My toddler nephew was given help from a sweet instructor who taught him how much it is to be in snow in skis. It’s known as a great place for beginners. My kids have been taking lessons for years. We were also able to take advantage of other kinds of activities. Even with my knee, I was still able to have fun snowboarding.
Lots of Family Events When we went to Lake Tahoe, we wanted to do all sorts of things, with a special emphasis on kid’s activities. We started with the Glowstick Parade and Carnival. The kids happily headed out watching the parade with their own glow sticks against the night sky. After that, it was on to the mountains for sledding tubing. We were really lucky. The weather was excellent, with only a bit of snow now and then. I encouraged my kids to improve their skiing skills while still being mindful of the needs of other people at the same time. At night, we had a fireplace in our hotel room and watched the stars come out by one against the incredibly beautiful dark sky. I know I’ll be returning here again and again to embrace the wonderful beauty of Lake Tahoe.
