All-New Hyundai Tucson Debuts With Bold Design and Advanced Hybrid Technology

Hyundai has revealed its all-new Tucson, dramatically transforming one of its most significant global SUVs with a fresh design and more intelligent technology, better hybrid power and a more bold personality. Launched in New York, the new Tucson has debuted Hyundai’s most recent ‘Art of Steel’ design language and features a more rugged looking body coupled with a roomier and more technology-filled interior.

Progressing into the fiercely contested small SUV market, a new Tucson is a big move for Hyundai. Since its launch in 2004, the previous Tucson has become the best selling SUV in the world for Hyundai with over 11.1 million units sold worldwide. The new generation arrives with high hopes and here Hyundai aims to build on their success in markets experiencing strong sales of practical and electrified SUVs.

Visually, new Tucson is closer to the vertical, downright muscular. Sharp features, bolder proportions and specific lighting elements are hallmark of Hyundai Art of Steel design philosophy. The interior design was also revised with vertical links and geometric details at both the front and rear and a more confident stance on the road. Bigger dimensions give more space to the inside for both passengers and luggage.

One of the most notable features is the hybrid technology. Hyundai promises that its new-generation hybrid system will be keen to satisfy both driving performance and better fuel consumptionin some configurations, the manufacturer aims for 42 miles per gallon. The hybrid system is targeted at those who desire the SUV’s functionality but who do not want to sacrifice efficiency on a daily basis. The new Tucson range includes a plug-in hybrid that is expected to have an electric driving range of 81 km and 292 PS.

The technology takes yet another leap forward in the cabin. The new Pleos Connect infotainment system from Hyundai that was used inside the Tucson has a new digital interface and Gleo AI (artificial intelligence) built-in assistance for better voice interaction and more access to services and features. The system can be fitted with large displays based on specification and market to ease the use of entertainment and navigation services.

Hyundai announced the XRT PRO has a ground clearance of 210 mm, such is the bold roll off speed bump.
